Rectangular Acoustic Attneuators
The HSE low pressure drop has been achieved by designing the acoustic baffle elements completely according to the basic laws of aerodynamics. To achieve this, the acoustic baffles are utilized according to the principle for deflecting the air stream by means of guide vanes. The means in many cases that the HSE can replace a rectangular bend (without guide vanes) with maintained or even lower pressure drop.
The low pressure drop can e.g. be utilized for the following:
- For reducing the space requirement in that a smaller sound attenuator can be selected.
- For reducing the pressure rise in the fan if the size is maintained.
- For reducing the inherent sound generation in the system thanks to lower velocity and lower pressure rise.
- For adapting the sound attenuator more easily to the connected duct system.
Description & Construction
Standard rectangular Sound attenuators type RSA are available in wide range of sizes in seven standard length (other dimensions available upon request).
The casing and baffles are manufactured from galvanized sheet steel. The baffles is contain acoustic in fill. Compressed 10% which will be of sufficient density to meet catalogued performance requirements. In fill material be odorless, incombustible, vermin and moisture proof inorganic sound absorbing characteristics with flame spread not over 25 and smoke development not over 20.
The baffles has a fiber retention facing behind perforated or expanded galvanized sheet metal for dual protection against damage and erosion. The baffles are radiuses up & down stream to minimize air pressure loss and regenerated noise, offering a good acoustic Performance.
